Business Organization Continues to Make Strides on Behalf of Placer’s Top Economic Sectors

Aug. 1, 2023 – Roseville, CA, Placer Business Alliance is pleased to announce Cherri Spriggs, who has been serving as the organization’s interim executive director since last year, has been named executive director. Spriggs originally served as one of the organization’s founding board members.

“For the last year, Cherri has successfully led our organization through a time of transition and growth,” said Carol Garcia, president of Placer Business Alliance and vice president/community relations officer for First Northern Bank. “We are honored to have her serve as our executive director.”

Spriggs has been a resident of Placer County since 2001, living in Rocklin and Roseville and since 2009, Lincoln. She possesses a professional background in journalism, local, regional and statewide ballot measure campaigns, public affairs, diversity outreach and community relations. She has served Lincoln and the greater Placer Community as an Economic Development Committee Member, a Board Member for Lighthouse Counseling and Family Resource Center, the President of the Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce, the President of Visit Placer and is a newly appointed public alternate member to LAFCO. Her keen understanding of policy coupled with her background in public affairs and her intimate knowledge of Placer County’s business and infrastructure challenges and opportunities make her more than qualified to continue to lead the organization in the capacity of executive director.

This year PBA celebrated its second year advocating on behalf of Placer County’s leading economic sectors: agriculture/forestry, construction, finance and insurance, health care and social assistance, manufacturing, real estate and rental leasing, retail and tourism. Over the last two years the organization has amassed a broad spectrum of support, spearheaded an annual Placer-focused business summit to Washington, D.C., partnered with various organizations to commission proprietary research that examined building trends and emerging labor markets, facilitated opportunities for business and community leaders to connect with the region’s local, state and congressional leaders through various events such as tours, symposiums, candidates’ forums and intimate discussions, and has helped further policy at the County and National levels to protect Placer County as one of the most business-friendly locales in the Country.

PBA will be holding its third annual DC Summit Oct. 24 – 27, 2023. Space is limited to 100 and sold out in June, however a few sponsorship opportunities remain. If you would like to be added to the waiting list or are interested in sponsoring, contact cherri@placerbusiness.com.
